GWHT Awarded DoD Breast Cancer Research Program Innovator Award!

We'd like to take this opportunity to tell you about a new breast cancer consortium funded by the DOD Breast Cancer Innovator award, which we received in September 2024. The vision is a new care continuum for the treatment of early-stage breast cancer that replaces toxic regimens with treatments that are safe effective and can impact survival. 

The new care continuum we envision will seek to intercept cancer at its earliest stages and will study how and what is needed to help these immune cells survive and work effectively. This will facilitate the advancement on pre-clinical work to translate findings into phase I trials. GWHT is working with an inter-disciplinary team of clinicians, basic scientists, and breast cancer advocates to maximize therapeutic benefit for early-stage breast cancer patients without wearing their bodies down and without stretching resources.
